William Anthony Davis, 93, Sarasota, died Nov. 13, 2006. He was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Czechoslovakia and came to Sarasota in 1979 from Miami. He owned and operated an auto repair shop and spent five years in the Army, serving during World War II, retiring as a sergeant. He was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 1519 and Bobby Jones Golf Complex and Sarasota Golf Club Colony, all in Sarasota. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean; sons Anthony G. of Santa Clara, Calif.; a brother, Johnny Rudick of Springfield; and three grandsons. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Manor Care Health of Sarasota. Burial, with military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
