->With broken hearts the family of Bill Henry announce his passing in Nanaimo BC. Bill was born in High River Alberta, third of four children to Ken Henry and Marjorie (Ted) Seney. Born and raised in the High River and Blackie areas, moving to Calgary and later Langdon making friends and memories wherever he went. Bill's biggest passion was golf, and was thrilled to have been able to golf the great courses at St Andrews in 2010, when, "luckily" the volcano hit and he HAD to stay an extra week and golf more. He had three holes in one in his life time, and was very proud of those. He put himself through Mount Royal University, graduating in 1989 at the age of 33. MRU was a wonderful time for Bill, he and his favorite Economics professor Mike Fellows, formed the Fellows-Henry scholarship in 2011. In 1991, Bill met Trish Dickinson, they married and had two Sons, who he took immense pride in watching grow to amazing young men. Bill had many professions in his life, but none made him prouder than starting Trimet Building Products Inc. in 2002, and watching it grow to the amazing sheet metal company it is today. In 2011, he sold Trimet to retire and move to Vancouver Island to golf and garden full time.He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Marjorie, brother Brian, sister Ruth Clingman, cousins Lynn and Ron Mitchell, and many uncles and aunts from the Henry and McIlvride families. Left to celebrate this amazing man are his loving wife Trish, sons Will (Teigen Robin) and Alex, his sister Dawn Wipf, brother in law Brent Clingman, sister in Law Teena (Al) Petersen, aunt Lyn Howe, cousin and friend Colleen (Barry McLellan), many much loved nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Trish's family Barb Dickinson, Dave Dickinson, Criss (Garry Schaffrick), Don and Jennifer Dickinson, Jo-Ann and Harry Siewert and their families.Best friend of over 45 years Ryan (Louise) Garies of Parksville, BC, and his Nanaimo golf foursome Mike, Mark, Dennis and Rob, who he enjoyed heckling, "that was the worst shot I have ever seen"...Celebration of life will be held at Nanaimo Golf Club, Sunday April 26 at 1 pm, please wear your favorite golf shirt or Hawaiian shirt. Calgary celebration of life will be held, Monday June 15 at Mount Royal University, more details at a later dateWe will remember you as an amazingly kind, gentle and loving man, you made us laugh every day, and your hilarious stories will get us through the days until we see you again. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fellows--Henry Medal Award at Mount Royal University by mail 4825 Mount Royal Gate SW, Calgary, AB T3E 6K6; or contact Brittany Simpson at 403.440.7758 bsimpson@mtroyal.ca; or online at mtroyal.ca/giving. The medal was established by Bill to recognize a student's academic excellence in Principles of Microeconomics -- a course that he claims changed his life.
