Willa Mae (Atkinson) Johnson, 72, Springfield, Mo., passed away February 26, 2009, in Springfield. She was born on June 11, 1936, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert E. Johnson; brother Paul E. Atkinson; her parents; and a son, Michael Pomeroy. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lora and Tim Smith, Janet and Brad Bailey, and Steven and Denice Jarles; seven grandchildren; sisters and their spouses, Charlene and Bill Gray, and Jewell Clark; nieces and nephews, Christine Camp, Diane Camp, Brian Camp, Sharon Nolan, Ray Atkinson, Dale Atkinson and Danny Atkinson; sister-in-law Kartha Barner; and lifelong best friend, Trudy Shoffner. Funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65809, on March 2, 2009, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 1, 2009, in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue.
