Wilfrid Joseph Lemieux LEMIEUX, Wilfrid Joseph - Passed away at St. Joseph's Health Centre with family at his side after a brief but courageous fight with cancer at 87 years of age. Born Massey, Ontario, October 31. 1917. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Bunny) (nee Simpson). Loving son of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Lemieux. Dear father of Paul (deceased) and Lorna (Toronto), Jacquie (Ottawa), Peter (Kingston), Terry and Cathy (Sault Ste. Marie), Mary Brennan and Tom (Calgary), Christine Lanzellotti and Frank (Timmins), Laurie and Dan Lindenbach (Toronto) and Patrick (Sudbury). Grandpa to Mario, Michael, Kathy, Paolo, Claudette, Trina, Robert, Jodi, Justin, Sean B., Erin, Joel Colleen, Carolyne, Darren (deceased), Greg, Stacey, Peter, Lisa, Daniel, Jeff and Sean L. Great grandpa to 18. Dear brother to Lucia Clement (Leo deceased), Marguerite (deceased) Dubuc (Paul), Dora Martel and Freddie (deceased), Rita (deceased) Thompson (Ken), Marie Clement and Aurele (deceased) and Robert (deceased) Suzette Lemieux-Philippe (Vic). Mon Oncle to many with his "chansons". Employee with Inco for 41 years at various plants retiring as Utility Supervisor. Avid athlete who excelled in hockey (member of Eastern Junior Champs, Copper Cliff Redmen, Memorial Cup Finalists 1936-7), New York Rovers and Atlantic City Seagulls 1940-1 and many other local teams. Played baseball with several Sudbury teams. Went on to officiating for many years in the NOHA. Respected bowler in St. Charles, where he had his passion of working a small farm. Friends may call at Jackson and Barnard, Larch St., 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, December 10. Funeral mass to be celebrated at Church of Christ The King, Beech St., 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Catholic Com. (mass for shut-ins). Though we feel less connected to this earth with your passing, we take comfort in believing God has brought you Home and now you can rest Dad. - 12/8/2004 - ID5341929
