Wilda Gean Rogers, 84, of Republic, Mo., went to be with her beloved Lord and Saviour on March 1, 2007, after a short illness. She was born July 23, 1922, in Bolivar, Mo., to James Perry and Bertha Alice (Eastburn) Fullerton. She graduated from Central High School in Springfield in 1939. She was married September 12, 1941, to James Donald Rogers. She was a loving and giving mother of five children. She loved to travel, sew and paint. Gean or "Grandma GG" as she was often called, worked for Montgomery Wards for several years and was a longtime member of Republic Assembly of God. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends, but she now is at peace with her Jesus. She no longer bears any sickness or pain. Gean was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Billie Jean Payton; grandson, Ryan Michael Laffoon; her parents; brother, Dorel Fullerton; sister, Arlene Huston; sister-in-law, Ruth Jones and a brother-in-law, Bob Rogers. She is survived by two sons, James Donald Rogers Jr., Alaska, and Kent Thomas Rogers, Republic; two daughters, Brenda Lea Millhouser and husband, Jerry, Marionville, and Patricia Sue Petersen and husband, Larry, East Troy, Wisc.; grandchildren, Stephen Hughes, East Troy, Wisc., Shawna Laffoon and husband, Tim W., Shannon Lyman and husband, Tim P., and Dustin Rogers, all of Republic, and Chance Rogers, Billings; five great-grandsons, Trenton Laffoon, Justin Lyman, Steven Hughes, Jared Lyman, and Shawn Hughes; a sister, Elaine Elliott, of Ash Grove; three sisters-in-law, Edna Baker and husband, Robert, Jean Young and husband, John, and Linda Rogers; a brother-in-law, Rex Jones and wife Wilma; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of cherished friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, with Tim Laffoon and Marshall Bruner officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.meadors funeralhome.com.
