TROY Warren R. Parker, 81, of Federal Street, beloved husband of the late Carrie E. Purnell Parker, died on Friday, May 27, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born in New Bedford, Mass. to Aurelio and Evelyn Monteiro, Warren was raised by his adoptive parents, Abraham and Lovie Parker. Mr. Parker was a graduate of Philip Livingston High School in Albany. Mr. Parker was honorably discharged as a Private First Class from the U.S. Army in 1945 for having served during World War II. He retired in 1985 from Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co. in Watervliet where he had been a crane operator for over 35 years and was previously employed by the NYS Dept. of Labor in Albany. He was a member of Fifth Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church in Troy, the Col. William A. Dickerson VFW Post #8758 and the Troy Haymakers Athletic Association. Devoted father of Robert Preston of Warners, N.Y., Anthony Parker and Raymond Parker, both of Troy; brother of Eugenia Slyvia of New Bedford, Mass. Also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Fifth Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church, 189 Fifth Avenue, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
