She was a native of Savannah, attended the public schools of Chatam County, and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Ladies Guild, the Senior Mission, and sang in the choir. Survivors: husband, Ulysses Mitchell of Savannah; sons, Ulysses (Cynthia) Mitchell of Hilton Head, S.C., Charles (Martha) Mitchell, Sr., and Carl Mitchell of Savannah; daughter, Sharon Mitchell of Savannah and Pamela Mitchell Brodie of Boston, Mass.; sister, Vera Mitchell of Savannah; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
