Obituary of Wanda-Arlene Carter

Mrs. Wanda Arlene Coates, December 2, 1924 - June 15, 2008, 83 years, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2008 at Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus. Loving mother of Allan Carter of Toronto, Lois Stokes and husband the late Walter (1993), Larry Coates and wife Sandra, Claudia Coates, Claude Coates Jr. and wife Karen all of Windsor and Jerry Coates and wife Linda of Alberta. Cherrished grandmother to Tessie, Waneema Williams, (Ed), Patricia Illic (Mike), Wanona Stokes, Tracy (Omar), Ronda Jackson (Clarence), Claude (Yvonne), Desare Webster (Johnny), Ulonda, Shelley, Robert (Rose), Tina Webb (Brian), Kevin (Louise) both of Alberta, Walona, Danielle (Leonard), Jeff (Nonie), Richard (DeeDee), C.J. (Kim), Wanelle (Hawk) and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Willis (1964) and Eva (1953) Carter. Dear sister of Marvin Carter and wife Mieral of B.C. and predeceased by brother Orian Carter (1985) and sisters Rosaline Carden (1992) and Donna Hill (2003). Also survived by sister-in-law Luella Carter and many nieces and nephews. Arlene will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her family and friends. Arlene worked at Metropolitan Hospital up to 1978. Visitation will be held at Victoria Greenlawn Memorial Chapel & Reception Centre (1525 Highway 3, 1 km west of Walker Road 519-969-3939) on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Family Hour Thursday from 7-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In kindness memorial donations to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
