Obituary of Walter-Samuel Anderson


Walter Samuel Anderson, age 93, passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014. He was born June 18, 1921, in Roff, Okla. He was a First Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he received the Air Force Longevity Service Award and GCMDL Clasp with two silver loops. He enjoyed camping, boating and Nascar. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Anderson; his companion, Maxine Brander; and his brother, Dan Anderson. He is survived by his son, Rodney Wayne Anderson and wife Wendy; daughter, Shirley Gail Jones and husband Richard; sister; Wilma Hearn; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and Maxine's children, Sue Lefevre, Brian and Chris.A time of visitation will be held Saturday, Sept, 20, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with service starting at 11 a.m. with Reverend Fran Picker. Burial will follow at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to Eglin Family Readiness Center.Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
