Walter Lou Hood December 24, 1917- January 13, 2015 Columbus, Georgia- Mrs. Walter Lou Hood, 97, of Columbus, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Friday, January 16, 2015 at Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Marcus Gibson will officiate. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 12 Noon until 6 PM, according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus, GA. Mrs. Hood was born December 24, 1917 in Columbus, GA, she was the daughter of Effie and Mollie Barge Johnson. She was a member of Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member and Sunday School teacher. Survivors include a son, Carver Hood, a daughter, Bertha Brown, a grandson, Clifford Lamont Hood, and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
