Walter James Henderson "Coastline", 90, of Elmer, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his residence after an extended illness. Born to the late Charles and Eunice Henderson he was a hydrogen and oxygen supervisor for DuPont Industries, Deepwater, NJ where he was employed for 39 years. Walter was a member of the United States Navy where he served in World War II, he was a member of the Mt. Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, he formerly attended Hopewell Baptist Church, Pennsgrove, St. Paul Baptist Church, Vineland, and Friendship Baptist Church, Pittsgrove, he enjoyed golf, traveling, and he was also a volunteer at Elmer Hospital for over 25 years, his passion was giving and helping others. Walter leaves to cherish his memories 1 daughter Malvese (James Jr.) Penn, 1 sister Cleo Williams, 3 grandchildren Darlene, Doretta, and Della Mae Hickman, 3 great grandchildren Jacel Malvese Penn, James Walter Spencer Penn IV, and Jyah James Penn, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walter was preceded in death by 1 son Dwayne Tunstall, 1 daughter Sarah Hickman, and 1 grandchild James Penn III. Services will be held at the St. Matthew Baptist Church, Rt. 322 Williamstown, NJ, Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:00 am where friends may view 2 hours prior to services. Interment will be held at the Eglington Cemetery, immediately following services.
