Oglethorpe Co. - Walter Edward Anderson, 81, passed away January 23, 2009.A longtime resident of Oglethorpe County, he was a son of the late Marvin and Martha Anderson and the widower of Beulah Collins Anderson. He was a member of Crawford Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Anderson and Wade Anderson and a daughter-in-law, Kelly Anderson.Funeral services will be Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Revs. B. G. Miller and Donald Wineinger will officiate. Interment will be in Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery.Survivors include five children, Tony (Lisa) Anderson of Watkinsville, Judy (Chris) Hicks of Crawford, Wayne (Leaser) Anderson of Winterville, Tracy Anderson of Lexington, Phillip (Becky) Anderson of Crawford; daughter-in-law, Wanna Anderson of Crawford; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Josh Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Justin Anderson, Dwight Anderson Jr., Jerome Dake, Joseph Hicks, Tracy Anderson Jr., Rebecca Anderson Major, Brian Anderson, Brittany Anderson and Brooke Anderson.Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Collins and Bud Pearson.Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Crawford Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund.The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
