Walter A. Anderson, 100, of New Britain, widower of Ebba (Anderson) Anderson, died Feb. 2, 2007, at the Jerome Home, New Britain. He was born in New Britain, and moved to Plainville in 1949 until returning to New Britain in 1968. A graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1924, and Upsala College in 1928, he was employed at P.F. Corbin, later Russell & Erwin Division of American Hardware for over 35 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in New Britain; sang in the church choir for over 65 years; was also a member of SVEA Social Club; Tegner-Valkyrian Lodge, Order of Vasa; and AARP. He also sang in the Wennerberg Male Chorus and the Austrian Donau Club of New Britain. He is survived by two sons, Robert W. Anderson, of Plainville, and Allan D. Anderson and his wife, Brenda, of Cardiff by the Sea, Calif.; a sister, Martha Anderson, of New Britain; two grandchildren, Tenley Anderson, of Nashville, Tenn., and Craig Anderson and his wife, Gretchen, of Alpharetta, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Caroline; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Ashley Anderson. The funeral was held Feb. 8, at First Lutheran Church, New Britain. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051.
