->Wallace R. Tedesco TROY - Wallace R. Tedesco 97 of Troy NY passed into eternal rest after a long illness on Sunday morning March 16, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving . Wallace was born in Port Henry, N Y and was the son of the late James and Maria ( Esposito) Tedesco. Wallace was the adoring husband of the late Julia (Parella) Tedesco ,with whom he shared his life with for 57 years . Wallace retired from Republic Steel after many years as a head foreman and a master mechanic . .In his retirement Wallace enjoyed fishing with his sons, and had a passion of gardening and bird watching. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed watching the games with his grandson Marc. Wallace was known for carrying on his wife’s tradition of making dozens of his famous fruitcakes for the holidays. He enjoyed his glass of wine and listening to Italian music. He was a lover of nature and adored his pets .Wallace had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved, and truly touched the lives of everyone he met. Wallace was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church ,and supported many charitable causes. Wallace enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his family reveled in his unique storytelling abilities. Wallace is survived by his sons , Reginald ( Florence) Tedesco and Richard ( Kathy Worobey ) Tedesco both of Brunswick .He is also survived by his grandchildren Lisa (Richard ) Cellucci of Brunswick , Tara ( David ) Mooradian of Brunswick , Jennifer ( James ) Tedesco – Fayed , Erin ( Aaron ) Hoffman and Marc Tedesco all from New York City . He is also survived by his great –grandchildren Gabriella, Julia , David , Ana and Leo . Wallace is also survived by his loving sisters Martha Tedesco , Anna Tedesco and Virginia ( Pat ) Merola all of Troy, and all his adoring nieces , Nephews , and cousins. Wallace was pre-deceased in addition to his parents by his siblings ,M. Philomena ( Freddy ) Scorsone, Fiore ( Virginia ) Tedesco , Ursula ( Alec ) Vellotti ,Beatrice ( Dean ) Cioffi and Reginald ( Edith ) Tedesco The funeral service for Wallace will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 8:45 AM at The Bocketti Funeral home 336 Third Street Troy and at 9:30 am at Our Lady of victory Church where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated . Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-6PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center of Troy in Wallace’s memory . The family would like to extend our most sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at The Rubin Dialysis Center both in Clifton Park and Troy locations for the wonderful care given to Wallace over the many years. A special thank you to the ICU nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the loving care he received .
