Mr. Wallace Lee "Jack" Carter - SAVANNAH/HINESVILLE - Mr. Wallace Lee "Jack" Carter, 75, died on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at his brother's home in Liberty County after an extended illness. He was a native of Bryan County but had lived in Savannah most of his life. He was retired from the Savannah Fire Department and had worked at WTOC TV for many years. He was an Emeritus member of the Richard T. Turner Lodge #116 F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his wife Margie Craft Carter and his parents Gladys Ella Lee Carter Harvey and Dan Edward Harvey. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law James T. "Jimmy" and Annette Carter of Hinesville, Georgia, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Carrie Holt, Liz Flynn, Sandra Williams, Joey Hartwell, and Doug Weathers. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A private graveside funeral will be held Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family request that in lieu of flowers, remembrance may be given to the Masonic Home in Macon at 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211.
