CHERNIAK, Vivien Joyce (Jackson) - Peacefully, with family at her side, at St. Catharines General Hospital on December 5, 2005 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Cherniak. She will be sadly missed by her son, Michael, and daughter- in-law Gesine Cherniak of Beamsville, granddaughter Gillian Rodger of St. Catharines and daughter Elizabeth Cherniak and Paul Ruzycki of Sherkston. Dear sister to twin brother Ralph (Donna) Jackson of Beamsville and sister June (Grover) Seitzinger of Danville, Illinois. Vivien was born in Oshawa, Ontario in 1930. She will be remembered for her pioneering work establishing the first YWCA Women's Resource Centre in St. Catharines in 1970. The family will receive friends at BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Duke Street, St. Catharines, on Thursday from 7-9 pm. Cremation. Private interment at a later date.
