Vital Richard 1922-2012 SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT,NB- Vital Richard 90, passed away peacefully at La Villa Maria, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Saturday, December 15, 2012, with his family by his side. Born in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Jean and late Appoline (Richard) Richard. The world lost one of its best, a man full of compassion, integrity and honor. Vital was the loving partner to Lucienne (Gallant) for 65 years, the ideal father to his six children and a kind and tender grandfather to his many grandchildren. He enjoyed doing his commercial studies at College-de-St-Joseph in Memramcook. On completion of his studies, he succeeded his father in the family business until its closure in 1969. From there and until his retirement he worked with the NB Housing Corporation where he was held with the highest regard. Vital gave of himself with his involvement in the Villa Maria's Board of Administration, Amica'sDirection Committee and he served as Counsellor from 1969-1977 for the Saint-Louis Municipality. Vital and his wife, Lucienne's over-whelming dedication and commitment to the Saint-Louis Grotto was recognized through their parish and community. Always willing to lend a hand, this entrepreneur of mind and spirit inspired his children, nephews, nieces and all who knew and met him. Vital had many passions; nature, skating, cross country skiing, biking and swimming but his true passion lay with his family. He will remain part of our everyday life and our hearts will be forever touched. Vital will be sadly missed by his loving wife; Lucienne (Gallant) Richard of Saint-Louis-de-Kent, one daughter; Nicole (Mike) of Saint-Louis-de-Kent, five sons; Gaston of Saint-Louis-de-Kent, Jean-Nil of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Michel (Janice) of Aldouane, Martial (Shelley) of Fall River, Nova Scotia, Serge (Danielle) of Saint-Louis-de-Kent and seven grandchildren. Vital is also survived by three sisters; Lucie Vautour, Alphonsine Robichaud and JeannetteDesroches (Adrien) all of Saint-Louis-de-Kent, one adopted brother; Albert (Jacqueline) of Richibucto and several nieces and nephews. Vital was predeceased by his parents, four brothers; Auguste, Robert, Joseph, and Irenée (Réné) and two sisters; Ernestine and Flora. Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, Saint-Louis-de-Kent with visitation on Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm, Tuesday at 9:00 AM until time of funeral . A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 am, St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis-de-Kent.
