Virginia Wade Smith UNION, SC-- Mrs. Virginia Wade Smith, formerly of 115 Lowe Street, Union, SC, widow of William A. Smith, died Thursday, November 4, 2010 at White Oak Manor, Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Smith was born in Union, SC, on November 7, 1920, a daughter of the late Linder Lee Wade and Gertrude Bryant Wade. She was a charter member of Ottaray Baptist Church where she attended as long as her health permitted. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Helms and husband Bobby, and Mary McKeowen and husband Walter; a sister, Muriel Mitchell, all of Union; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Guy Langston. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday in the chapel prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of S.C., 408 North Duncan ByPass, Suite 6, Union, SC 29379.
