Funeral services for Virginia Myhand Moore, 84, of Cropwell, formerly of Roanoke, will be held today, August 22, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. from High Pine Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Moore and the Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12:30 this afternoon. Mrs. Moore died Friday, August 20, 2010, at her home in St. Clair County. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Wadsworth (Mike), of Cropwell and Elizabeth Smith (Jim), of Trussville; two sons, Paul Moore (Janice), of Inman, S.C. and Dan Moore (Julia), of Charleston, S.C.; a brother, William Myhand, of Lebanon, Tenn.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Wadsworth, David Jefferies, Morgan Smith, William Moore, Bobby Myhand, Joe Myhand and Rich Phillips. Born in the Hopewell community of Chambers County, Alabama on October 31st, 1925, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of James Thomas and Effie Williams Myhand. She was a member of Coosa Valley Baptist Church, Cropwell. Before moving to Cropwell in 2004, she was an active member of High Pine Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Moore; two brothers and two sisters.
