BARRE - Virginia Milne Anderson, 94, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Loveland, Colo. Born on June 2, 1919, in Barre, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Lillie) Milne. She had lived in the Barre area her entire life before moving to Loveland, Colo., five months ago. She attended Barre schools and graduated from Spaulding High School. In 1939, Virginia married Arthur G. Anderson in Barre. She and her husband and sons owned the A.G. Anderson Co. Inc. in Waterbury. Her husband, Arthur, died April 17, 1998. As a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Barre, she participated in the church's Elwood Club. She loved to camp, garden and travel, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her son, William Anderson and his wife, Norma, of Windsor, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Regina Anderson of Swanton; three grandchildren, Brian Anderson and his wife, Kelly, of Vermont, Wendy Jones and her husband, Devin, and Debra Soden and her husband, Greg, all of Colorado; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Milne and his wife, Marti, of Cherry Hill, N.J. Besides her parents and husband Arthur, a son, Carl Anderson, a brother, Francis Milne, and a sister, Eunice Greaves, predeceased her. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.
