MILLER, VIRGINIA (NIEMANN), 93, "The Apple Lady," went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Virginia was from one of the oldest families in Shively. She and her family owned and operated Riverview Farms Dairy and Miller's Orchard. She attended St. Helens School and was a member of the Women's Republican Club of Louisville and Jefferson County. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Miller; and her parents, William and Maggie (Arnold) Niemann; and her sister- in-law, Mary Katherine Miller. She is survived by her three children, George A. Miller II, Mary Miller Snyder Erenthal (Shel) and Bill Miller (Vicki); three grandchildren, Rebecca Snyder Farris (Eddie), Matthew Miller (Susana) and Megan Miller. She has four great-grandchildren, Easton, Madison, Chase, Turner Farris and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held noon on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 1-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Friday.
