-> Lyons - Virginia McCall Smith, 86, died Sunday, June 15, 2003 after an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born in Tattnall County to the late Ernest H. and Ola T. McCall where she resided until her marriage to the late David Troy Smith. She and Troy made Lyons their home from 1940 until his death in 1981. Mrs. Smith continued living in Lyons until she suffered a stroke in 1999. At the time of her death she was a resident at Chestnut Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumming, GA. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lyons First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and Sunday School Teacher for many years. She also served as pianist for Pearsons Chapel Methodist Church from age 15 until 1999. Survivors: daughter, Susan Smith-Lewis; one sister, Tommilu McCall Braiden, both of Decatur; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, from First United Methodist Church of Lyons with Dr. Max Hill and Rev. James Aycock officiating. Burial: Reidsville City Cemetery.
