Comer - Virginia Martin Wood, age 94, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009. Ms. Wood was born on April 24, 1914 to the late Vance Martin and Mary Drake. She was the wife of the late Mr. Reuben C. Wood. Ms. Wood was of the Baptist faith and a member of Vineyards Creek Baptist Church.Surviving relatives include son, Kenneth M. Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Waymon Kelley; grandchildren, Wanda (Joe) Llewallyn and Michael (Kim) Kelley; great-grandchildren, Kevin Llewallyn, Kelley Llewallyn, Heather Kelley and Brooke Kelley; great-great-grandchildren, Bridgette Llewallyn and Alley Kelley.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Vineyards Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Calvin Coile, Rev. Dalton Carrington and Dr. Larry Green will be officiating.Pallbearers will be Chris Chasteen, Len Graham, Donnie Patton, Tommy Patton, Derrick Brown and Homer Chasteen. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Dove and Todd Arrowood.Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Vineyards Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 183, Comer, GA 30629.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 6, 2009, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, Ga., has charge of arrangements.
