They shared a special and devoted union of sixty-four years until the passing of Harold on March 6, 2012. Virginias life revolved around her beloved family and she was a dedicated teacher to all her students. She cherished family traditions, events and holidays, observing and honoring them with a pride that she passed on to her family. In retirement, Virginia and Harold enjoyed traveling and their summer homes on Canadarago Lake, and later on Pine Lake, and their many camp friends. Virginia was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church, and the NYS Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Davis is survived by her three cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Cramer, of Mohawk, Janet and Daniel Platts, of Ilion, and Arlene and Karl Tripple, of Ilion; four grandchildren, Joy Barrett and husband, Mark, of Homer NY, and Daniel, Todd and Jill Platts, all of Ilion; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Platts and Elena Barrett; and also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband and her mother and father. Abiding by Virginias request, she will be cremated. There will be no public calling hours, and the funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest with her husband Harold in the Mohawk Cemetery.
