Johnson, Virginia Loe Jul. 27, 1920 - Jan. 13, 2015 Virginia Loe Johnson 94, of Sarasota FL, formerly of Shreveport LA, passed away peacefully at home Jan 13, 2015. Virginia was born in Shreveport, where she resided all her life until moving to Sarasota in 2010. While living in Shreveport, she graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and attended Centenary College. She was a lifelong member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, and held memberships in the Petroleum Club, East Ridge Country Club, Broadmoor Woman's Golf Association, Shreveport Power Squadron, and the Shreveport Yacht Club where she was an honorary member. She and her husband Woody were very active in sailboat racing for many years and were fleet champions several times. She was an avid golfer, fisherwoman and bridge player all her life. She loved to travel and dance. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow 'Woody' Max Johnson, parents, Thomas T. Loe & Palas S. Loe, grandson, Randolph Querbes Johnson, sisters Tommie Loe, Ellen Miller, and Margaret Rosbottom. She is survived by her two sons, William M. Johnson & wife LuAnn of Shreveport, LA, and Jeffery E. Johnson & wife Jane of Sarasota FL Virginia was affectionately known as 'Dear' to her grandchildren, Jeffery T. Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Michele T. Garren and husband Benjamin of Atlanta, GA: W. Merritt Johnson & partner Jason Weinberg, of New York, Virginia J. Good & husband Tom of Sarasota, FL, and Tricia T. Touchstone and husband Randolph of Dallas, TX, and great-grandchildren, Caroline A. Garren, Mary Q. Good, Malcolm C. Good, Thomas P. Good, Harry S. Johnson-Weinberg and Jasper W. Johnson-Weinberg, Marjorie M. Touchstone, Lillian R.Touchstone, Alexandra A. Touchstone. The Johnson family would like to thank Socorro Rosas and Monseriat Alvarez for their kindness and loving care. A family graveside service will be scheduled in Shreveport at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to The Randolph Querbes Johnson Health Gallery, Sci-Port, 820 Clyde Fant Parkway, Shreveport, LA 71101.
