Obituary of Virginia Hall


Virginia "Suzy" Sommer (nee Hall), 73, departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012. Mrs. Sommer was born in Montclair, N.J., and grew up in Scotch Plains, N.J. She lived in Basking Ridge, N.J., and Peapack, N.J., before moving to Wantage, N.J., 20 years ago. A graduate of Bernards High School, Mrs. Sommer married and was a homemaker as well as a self-employed seamstress. After raising her children, she became a licensed practical nurse and was dedicated to her profession until her retirement. She later married the late Robert Sommer, a former mayor of Lafayette, N.J. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and became a fan of Notre Dame football. Mrs. Sommer also enjoyed volunteering her time at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish in Sparta, N.J. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Dorothy Hall. Mrs. Sommer leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her family and friends. Survivors include her three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In honoring her personal wishes there will be no memorial service or funeral.
