WOOD Virginia Gini Ann Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. A graduate of Ketterlinus High School in St. Augustine, Gini spent all of her adult life as a resident of Jacksonville, FL. She returned to school later in life, receiving her B.A. and M.A. in psychology from the University of North Florida. Gini was an accomplished artist who exhibited her work at Art after Dark and numerous local galleries. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, photography, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a highly regarded psychotherapist and was particularly passionate about working with and helping children. She is survived by her three children, David Browning of Tallahassee, FL; Angela Browning of Neptune Beach; and Robert Browning of Winter Park, FL; her husband, Wayne W. Wood, OD of Jacksonville, FL; step-children Grady and Sarah Webb-Wood and two grandsons, Pierce and Jack Browning of Tallahassee, FL. Gini also had numerous close friends who will miss her tremendously. A celebration of Gini s life will be held Sunday, March 24, at 3 pm at Riverside Avenue Christian Church, 2841 Riverside Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gini s name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or the Alzheimer s Association.
