FAIR HAVEN - Virginia Fila Wood, 39, died April 30, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. She was born Feb. 16, 1973, in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of Paul and Jacquelyn (Deracleo) Fila. She graduated from Poultney High School in 1991 and attended Castleton College. On Oct. 28, 2005, she married Royal Wood IV in Rutland. Mrs. Wood relocated to Florida in 2000 to care for her mother who had cancer. She enjoyed reading. Survivors include her husband, daughter Autumn, sons Royal V and Nikolai Wood, all of Fair Haven; her father; five siblings, Julie Fila of North Carolina, Alexis Curran of Whitehall, N.Y., Paul Fila, Joel Breckner, both of Cape Coral, Fla., and Thomas Curran of North Grosvenordale, Conn.; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the residence on 121 Prospect St. in Fair Haven.
