Mrs. Virginia Davis - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Virginia R. Davis, 65, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was native of Savannah, GA and attended the public schools of Chatham Co. She was a 1963 graduate of A.E. Beach High School. She retired from Candler Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service as a Production Specialist. As a teenager, she was an active part of the Civil Rights Movement. She was a member of the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer and the National Breast Cancer Coalition. She was a dedicated Church Mother and Missionary at New Life Apostolic Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Davis and sister, Mattie Lee Simmons. Survivors: daughters, Martina Correia, Kimberly Davis, and Ebony Davis; sons, Troy Davis and Lester Davis; grandchildren, Antone' D. Davis and Kiersten Herron; brother, Walter Sanders Sr; sisters, Pamela Cooper and Mollie Kelly; special cousin, Mattie Bell Hazzard; and a host of other relatives and friends. Sidney A.
