Cramer, Virginia LATHAM Virginia Louise Cramer, 84, a resident of Latham since 1951 and beloved wife of the late Robert F. Cramer Sr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Community Hospice at Memorial Hospital, in Albany. Born in Albany on October 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Chester R. and Pearl (Hastie) Oliver. She attended Bethlehem High School. At one time she worked for GAF and then worked in many retail stores; GEX, Fashion Flair and Peter Harris. She eventually left the workforce to tend to her families needs as a loving and dedicated homemaker and they were her foremost priority and the center of her life. Virginia was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and member of the Red Sox Nation. As a communicant and 60 year member of St. Ambrose Church, she was in the Young at Heart & Senior Citizens of St. Ambrose as well as the Ladies Auxiliary Colonie Elks #2192 and American Legion of Rensselaer, North Colonie Senior Citizens and South Colonie AARP. She is survived by her loving children, Carol Ferrucci of Schenectady, Sue Searle of West Palm Beach, Fla., Joan (John) Hewitt of Latham, Patricia Cahill of Schenectady, Steven Cramer of Nashville, Tenn. and Thomas Cramer of Schenectady, 18 cherished grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren with one expected in August and one great-great grandchild with a second expected in July as well as her sister Shirley Murphy of Colonie and in-laws, Edward, Darel, Connie and Carolyn Cramer. Virginia is predeceased by her son, Robert F. Cramer Jr.; her grandson, Micah Cramer and her siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Harrigan and Chester Oliver. The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Denis Chagnon and his nurse, Heather for their compassion, understanding and many years of care for "Mrs C." And a special thanks to her wonderful neighbors and best friends, Barbara, Mary, Helen and Alicia. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, March 7 from 4-7 p.m. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Fr. Francis Dubois will officiate. Interment will take place in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd.
