Home going celebration for Mrs. Virginia Carter, 90, will be Monday, December 26, at 11 a.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Sylacauga with the Rev. Rodney Looney officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Virginia leaves to cherish her memory six loving and devoted children; Roosevelt (Elizabeth) Thomas, Mary (John) Carter, Pearlie McKenzie and Virginia Averiett all of Sylacauga, Eddie Thomas of Seattle, WA and Robert (Darlene) Carter of Portland, OR; several loving and dedicated grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one God daughter, Gloria (Cecil) Fomby; two sisters, Mary Thompson of Birmingham and Rebecca Langley of Uniontown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, December 24, 2011 from 10-3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial formerly Childersburg Mortuary.
