Virginia Barnes Carter, 79, of Louisville, died Saturday at Christopher East. Mrs. Carter was a member of and choir member at Highland Presbyterian Church and a member of the Woman's Club of Louisville. She had been a volunteer at the old Louisville General Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Edgar L. Carter; one daughter, Karen C. Stone; one son, John Michael Carter; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, OH. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln. Memorial gifts may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society or the donor's favorite charity.
