Mrs. Virgie Pauline Smith, age 85, of Florence, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Florence Comprehensive Care Center after an extended illness. She was a native of Trigg County, Ky., and had lived in Lauderdale County for 45 years and was a member of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ.Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, from noon-2 p.m. at Florence Boulevard Church of Christ. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church, with burial to follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating at the service will be Bill Bagents.Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Smith; mother, Sarah Emmaline Elliott; father, Dennis M. Rogers; and a sister, Ruby McKinney.She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Young (Larry) and Sara Fulton (Dan); four grandchildren, Kelly Young (Amy), Lori Barnett (Mell), Jennifer Gaylor (Drew) and Jeff Fulton; six great-grandchildren, Olivia and Drake Young, Anna, Kasey and Tyler Young and Tyler Gaylor.Pallbearers will be Kelly Young, Jeff Fulton, Doug Farley, Harlon Goolsby, Pete Mayhall and Charles Woodfin.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing.
