Vernon Owen Davis, 87, of 104 Hazelwood Drive, died Friday at his residence. A native of Chardon, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Vernon and Hazel Ellen Smith Davis. He was the retired Director of International Relations with Union Carbide, was a graduate of Ohio State University and was a Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, June Griffiths Davis of the home; daughters, Diane Holmes and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Holmes of Castle Rock, Colo. and Cynthia Hudak and her husband, Richard Hudak of Seneca. A brother, Donald Smith of Oakland, Calif.; grandchildren, Tara Anderson, Torrey Anderson, Travis Anderson, Jason Hudak, Jesse Hudak, Joshua Hudak and Jenna Hudak. He was predeceased by a brother, Russell Davis. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th at Old Stone Church Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
