Sept. 30, 1925 – March 11, 2011Mrs. Verna Mae (Potter) Bell passed away Friday at Highlands Health and Rehab at the age of 85.Mrs. Bell is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Paul) Connally of Skyline; sons, Danny (Cindy) Bell of Skyline and Jerry Bell residing in Mexico; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bell of Fyffe; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rayford Potter of Scottsboro and Hugh (Pat) Potter of Skyline; sister, Evelyn (Joe) Burns of Rainbow City; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Bell; son, Thomas Bell; granddaughters, Regina Bell and Tish Gamble; parents, Benton and Irene Potter.Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Smith and the Rev. Jesse Guinn officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 tonight at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
