Funeral for Verna Carter, 94, of Courtland, will be noon Wednesday at Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. H.V. Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Carter died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. Jewel W. Keenum Decatur Funeral for Jewel W. Keenum, 83, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Oldham officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Keenum, who died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Athens to Noah Webb and Maude Crabtree Webb. She retired as a food server. She was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God. Mrs. Keenum was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard L. Keenum Sr.; and her son, Leonard L. Keenum Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Grimes and Vickey Rains and her husband, Lanny, all of Decatur; one sister, Helen Hanley and her husband, Perry, of Huntsville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
