Mrs. Velma Barnum Williams, age 85, wife of Dossie E. Williams, of 2102 Karen Lane, Anderson, S.C., died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, S.C.Born in Oconee County, S.C., on June 25, 1920, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Harry B. Barnum and Hasty Graham Barnum. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband, Dossie E. Williams of the home; a son, Howard Douglas Ivester; a daughter, Carolyn S. Wilson; a sister, Arie Elizabeth Barnum Mennix, all of Anderson, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Barnum Carithers and Viola Barnum Shanklin.Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, officiated by the Reverends Mike Fitzpatrick and Steve Silvey. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, S.C.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m.The family will be at the residence, 2102 Karen Lane, Anderson, S.C.Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Riverside Baptist Church, 504 S.
