Velma May Morris Velma May Morris, 80, of Tucumcari, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at Laurel Hills Health Care in Tucumcari. She was born on Feb. 28, 1925, in Knox City Texas. She was a long time resident of Logan, and was a member of the Oasis Church of God in Tucumcari. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Morris; her parents; two infant children; two grandchildren; and her siblings. Survivors include five sons, James (and wife, Shirley) Morris, of Logan, Herbert (Roxanna) Morris of Mannsfield Ark., Kenneth (Gail) Morris, David (Linda) Morris, and Harvey (Tella) Morris, all of Tucumcari; two daughters, Louise (Elmor) Mitchell of Yukon, Okla., and Joyce (Charles) McKee of Pampa, Texas; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great-great grandchildren. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Tucumcari. The Revs. Jimmy Chandler, Kenneth Morris and Jim Witcher will officiate. Burial will be at Logan Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charles McKee, Kenneth Jr., Mike, John and Kurtis Morris, Joe Osborn, Landi Fernandez, and John Earle. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
