MERIDEN- Velma M. Bogart, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Westfield Care & Rehab in Meriden. She was born April 28, 1920, in Guilford, a daughter of the late Edwin L. and Beatrice (Gillett) Morgan Sr. Velma worked for Cheebrough-Ponds Inc. retiring in 1978, was a member of Jehovh's Witnesses in Meriden and was a great junk artist at which she made great light houses and castles.She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Drinkard, of Meriden and Linda Wickham, of Pennsylvania; two step-daughters, Susan Bogart and Connie Dawn; a son, Daniel Keirstead Sr., of New Haven; and three step-sons, Thomas and Douglas Bogar, Earl Nelson Keirstead. She also leaves a brother, Edwin Morgan Jr., of Virgina; two sisters, Geraldine Morgan, of Florida and Clarissa Beckwith, of East Haven; as well as many granchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Vernon and Franklin Morgan; and a sister, Bernice Cunningham.A memorial service will be held at a later date at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.
