Voncile Smith Davis, the daughter of Joseph Smith and Susie King Smith, beloved mother, devoted Christian, esteemed church and civic leader departed this life on July 31, 2006. She was 94 years old. She met and married Kenneth Davis in Cairo, Georgia on December 31, 1939. He predeceased her on February 14, 1978. In addition to her son, Kenneth and granddaughter, Keenia, she leaves to mourn her sisters, Romell Bonds of New York City, Bessie Mae Taylor of Laurel, Maryland, and her brother Lindsay Smith of White Plains, New York, sister in law Bessie Barker of Katonah, NY, "adopted" sons, Paul and Fred Hollinger, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation and Wake tomorrow, Friday, August 4, 11 am - 12:30 pm at St. Frances AME Zion Church, 18 Smith Street, Port Chester, followed immediately by the Funeral at 12:45 pm tomorrow at the church. Burial, White Plains Rural Cemetery.
