Obituary of Virginia-Floyd Whitaker

WHITAKER, VIRGINIA FLOYD - age 96, born January 26, 1918, in Somerset, Kentucky. Died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Knoxville. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 56 years. Virginia loved the Bible and its truths and enjoyed all the activities with the congregation. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucas and Myrtie (Humble) Floyd; two sisters; two brothers; and her dear husband of 61 years, Joseph H. Whitaker. Virginia is survived by all five of her children, Franya Waide (Jim), Lynard Whitaker, (Mae), Charles Whitaker (Sandra), Barbara Looney (Wayne) and Mildred McLaughlin (John); eleven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and many friends. She will be remembered for her care and loving kindness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. at the West Kingdom Hall, 1403 Andes Road, Knoxville, TN 37932.
