SMITH, VALERIE M., 98Ocala - Valerie M. Smith, 98, passed on August 21, 2013, at Estelle's House, to touch the face of God. Surrounded by her loving family, she danced on up to join the choir of angels there to sing over them forever. She was a native of Warehouse Point, CT and retired to Dade City, FL in 1977, moving to Ocala in 1992. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward; daughter Babara New and granddaughter Letha Sauer. She leaves a son, Dorence (Dottie) Smith of CT; daughters Marge Quesnel and Judy Sauer (John); and son Edward (Linda) Smith, all of Ocala; daughters Susan (Bob) Yelle of CT and Shelly Hamar, of Ocala. In addition, she leaves 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am Monday, August 26th at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1839 NE 8th Ave., Ocala, were a service will be held at 10:30am followed by luncheon in the hall. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
