->Tracy R. Smith BALLSTON SPA - Tracy R. Smith 84, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. Born in Manheim, New York on November 12, 1930, he was the son of Robert and Magdelina Smith. Tracy was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal for many years. Tracy played mandolin in the Hill Top String Band. He restored old cars and had a car featured in the movie Ironweed. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his wife Bessie; daughter Karen Templin, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Tracy is survived by his children Robert Smith of Ballston Spa, Brenda Woods of Prince George, VA, Tracy Michael (Scott) of Ballston Spa and Brian Smith (Amy) of Galway; brother John Smith of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 21 from 2-4pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will follow at 4pm. Burial with military honors will be 11am Monday, December 22 at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga. Friends are invited to meet at the funeral home at 10am to join the procession to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
