Timothy-John Smith, born in 1978, spouse of Katie Smith, son of Harry and Clara-Brown, father of Codie and Aaron, died on May 5, 2008 at 29 years old.
Timothy John Smith Sauquoit Timothy John Smith, 29, of 2904 Oneida St., passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2008. He was born in New Hartford on August 30, 1978, a son of Harry and Clara Brown Smith, and received his education in Sauquoit schools, graduating with the class of 1996. On August 11, 2001, Tim and Katie DeLett were married in St. Patrick's Church in Clayville. Tim was currently employed as a Repair Technician at Mohawk Limited, a position he has held for the past eight years. He was an active member of the Sauquoit Volunteer Fire Company, having served as Lieutenant, President and on the board of directors. He was also a member of the Yorkville Vets Club. Tim is survived by his wife, Katie; his two sons, Codie and Aaron; his parents, Harry and Clara; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Ken and Amy Smith, of Utica, and Adam Smith and Nicholas Smith, both of Sauquoit; two brothers-in-law, Kevin DeLett, Jr., and Kyle DeLett; four sisters-in-law, Kim DeLett, whom he referred to as his 'little big sister', Kristen and Matt Sica, Karrie and Henry Patenaude, and Kaitlyn DeLett; his father-in-law, Kevin DeLett, Sr.; three nieces, Mackenzie, Madelyn and Morgan; his special friend, Crystal Eaton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ken and Joyce Brown and Harry and Marie Smith, and his mother-in-law, Rosemary DeLett. Calling hours will be Thursday (today), May 8, from 5-8 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:30 from the funeral home and 9:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Chadwicks. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, envelopes for contributions to be used to establish a trust for Codie and Aaron will be available at the funeral home. The Sauquoit Volunteer Fire Company will conduct services Thursday at 6:30 at the funeral home.
