Timothy-Alan Williams, spouse of Peggy Williams, son of Lorne and Mary, father of Paul, died. Please consult the obituary here:
WILLIAMS, Timothy Alan (Tim) November 17, 1940 October 24, 2011 Tim died on October 24th after a short but brutal battle with cancer. He was loved deeply and will be sadly missed by his wife, Peggy; son, Paul; mother, Mary; brothers, Terry and Todd; sisters, Marilee and Missy (Jeff); brother-in-law, Terry (Helen); sister-in-law, Caroline and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tim was predeceased by his father, Lorne and brother, Chris. Tim was born in Ottawa and spent the first 20 or so of his working years as a photogrammetric technician at Energy, Mines and Resources, Surveys and Mapping Branch, first in Ottawa, and then in Victoria after moving here in 1974. He then changed careers and worked for British Columbia Buildings Corporation, first in Cost Accounting, and then as a Purchaser. Tim retired from BCBC in 1996, took courses and became a Professional "Class A " Clubmaker, and started his own business, Golfcraft Custom Clubs & Repairs. He worked making and repairing golf clubs, until a few years ago when he really did retire. Tim had a strong work ethic and enjoyed all of his many careers. Tim was truly a craftsman who was meticulous no matter what he was working on, whether it was making golf clubs or renovating houses. And he renovated quite a few houses! He liked to take courses, and took many on accounting, purchasing and club making. Tim loved spending time with family and friends. He loved Vancouver Island and was so glad that he moved here. He enjoyed working on the house, golfing, going for walks and still missed his pets, Stray Cat the Brat and beloved collie, Angus. Tim liked to say that he walked around Thetis Lake so that he could get his "dog fix, " and would smile and say, "and I don't even have to feed them! " Tim was loved by so many people! And who wouldn't love him? Tim was such a kind and gentle soul. And yet so strong. He was warm and generous. A nurturer who always thought of others before himself. And let's not forget that wicked sense of humour. Tim was such a good man. I can't believe that he is gone. He was my partner in life for 28 years, my true soulmate, and although I know he will always be with me, I miss him so much. He was taken too soon and will be missed by so many people. We were lucky to have him for the time we did. It was a privilege to know him. Tim seemed at peace when he died and was surrounded by people who loved him. Thanks to the staff at both VGH and RJH, with special thanks to Hospice for helping us through such a difficult time. An informal Memorial Tea will be held for Tim on November 20th, from 1 4 pm, at Cedar Hill Golf Course. Emails welcome at memorialfortim@hotmail.com. In memory of Tim, please hug someone you love. 641696
