LEE--Thomas Sim, died on January 9, 2009 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, from complications arising from cancer and a stroke suffered on August 18, 2007. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Lee, he was born on August 18, 1937, and was a direct descendent of Thomas Sim Lee, second Governor of Maryland, and Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He graduated from Middlesex School and from Harvard University, Class of 1959. After service in the U.S. Army, he began a lifelong career in the securities industry in New York City. He was associated with several firms, most recently with Smith Barney. He was an active supporter and Board Member of the East Side Settlement House in New York City and an avid and accomplished bridge player and chef. Tom is survived by two sisters, Cynthia L. Russell (Mrs. John B. Russell) and Mary L. Lambert (Mrs. Paul C. Lambert) and a brother, Charles C. Lee. His sister, Eleanor L. Congdon, predeceased. He was a devoted and loving uncle to 18 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88 Street, New York, NY, on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY 10461.
