Thomas R. Gregory, 79, Sarasota, died Dec. 11, 2006, of heart disease. He was born July 26, 1927, in Charleston, S.C., and for 31 years from 1955 to 1986 was the primetime staff announcer at what is now called Fox Channel 5 in New York City. He also hosted many popular 1950 TV shows and was news anchor of "Faces and Places in the News." He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Catholic Church of the Incarnation. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Patricia; daughters Kathleen A. Lee of Port Charlotte and Linda L. Stelzen of Sarasota; a son, James M. of Casco, Maine; a brother, John J. of Sarasota; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home handled arrangements.
