MATHESON, Thomas George April 7, 1933 - Brooks, Alberta December 19, 2013 - Calgary, Alberta Thomas George Matheson of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Tom was born in Brooks, Alberta and lived all of his life in Calgary, except for three years in Victoria, where he was with the Canadian Navy. He was employed since 1964 with the University of Calgary, primarily in the Bio Science Department. Tom was a valued volunteer with the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, Promotion and Parade Committee's for over 25 years. He was also a recipient of the order of the University of Calgary in 1999 for exemplary service and dedication. He was survived by his daughters Melanie and Onilea (Sherri); two grandsons Brendan (Caitlyn) and Corey (Tonjia); great-granddaughter Braelynn, whom he was very proud of; his best friend, brother Bill Matheson; along with numerous extended family members."We love you more!"As per Tom's wishes, no formal service will be held.
