Obituary of Thomas-Lee-Pierce Sr


PIERCE Thomas Lee Pierce Sr., passed away after a long illness on Saturday, October 10, 2009. He was born in Piedmont, AL on December 8, 1920 to Ernest and Mary Pierce. Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Pierce; son, Thomas L. Pierce, Jr. and his wife Nancy 'Niki'; 2 grandchildren, Tracey Cole and Steven Pierce; and 3 great grandchildren; Kimberly Thigpen, Kelly Thigpen, and Bryce Cole, all live in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Pierce was a WWII veteran stationed in London in a MASH Unit. He owned an automotive garage with his father in Jacksonville at the corner of King and Edison Ave. He worked with the City of Jacksonville for 25 years retiring in 1975 and also worked at Fallen Camper for 10 years. He never met a stranger and had a smile for everyone he met. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Town & Country Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the funeral home with Reverend Michael Webb, great nephew, officiating, at the Hardage- Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville 781-9262.
