IRELAND, Thomas James - It is with great sadness that his loving family announces the passing of Tom Ireland in his 97th year at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Rose; daughter Sheila; and daughter-in-law Catherine. Survived by his children Ron (Susan), Joy (Allen Lamarche), Jim, Nancy (Paul Wheatley); grandchildren Julie, Joanne, Michelle, Heather, Gwen, Tom, Daniel, Matthew, Peter and William; great-grandchildren Kurtis, Tyler, Aidan, Kane, Mark, Matthew, Nathan, Xavier, Dominic and Nolan and great-great-grandchild Kameron. A loyal employee of Bank of Montreal for 46 years and a Veteran of RCAF during WWII. He was an active member of Foresters for 75 years. Dad taught us all the importance of family and friends and that with them through all the challenges and hard times - you can still have a wonderful life! Special thanks to all his caregivers. Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Ave. East, Scarborough, Wednesday, October 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service Thursday, October 30th at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
